Riverside Theater Rules

Like many theaters, the Riverside has several rules that you should be aware of in advance.

Bags

When you’re going to the Riverside Theater, it’s best to leave any large bags behind at home and take as little with you as possible. Bags larger than 13″ x 4″ x 9″ not permitted in the venue, and any bag you bring may be searched. In fact, the Riverside warns patrons to arrive half an hour early to leave time for searches of bags.

Prohibited items

For safety purposes, there is quite a long list of items you can’t take into the theater. Make sure you read the full list of prohibited items on the venue website. It includes:

» Any food or beverage from outside the venue, including water

» Vape pens

» Weapons

» Signs and banners

» Tablets and computers

» Selfie sticks

» Audio recording or professional-style photography equipment.

You’re never allowed to use flash photography, and some events don’t allow any photos or video. In others, you are allowed to take photos with a simple point-and-shoot camera or photos or videos with a smartphone. Check the rules for your specific event so that you don’t get caught out.

Age restrictions and children’s tickets

See your event’s details for any age restrictions and children’s ticketing information. Sometimes, children below the age of one or two may not need to buy a ticket, but again this can vary according to the event.
